Student Verification Policy

Afro Student Living uses student verification to help protect students, landlords, property owners, and the platform from false bookings, fraud, and misuse.

Why Student Verification Is Required

Afro Student Living is designed for students looking for verified accommodation. To keep the platform safe and trusted, students may be required to provide proof of identity, education, or student status before a booking request is approved.

Documents We May Request

During booking or account review, Afro Student Living may request one or more of the following documents:

• Valid student ID card
• University, college, or school admission letter
• Enrollment confirmation or student status letter
• Government-issued identification document
• Phone number and email confirmation
• Move-in date and accommodation requirement details
• Any other reasonable document required to confirm the booking request

Verification Review

Uploaded documents are reviewed by Afro Student Living admin. Submitting a document does not automatically guarantee booking approval. We may contact the student for additional information where needed.

False or Misleading Information

If a student provides false, misleading, incomplete, or suspicious information, Afro Student Living may reject the booking request, suspend access, cancel the booking, or request further verification.

Use of Verification Documents

Verification documents are used only for booking review, student verification, security checks, and communication related to accommodation requests.

Afro Student Living does not sell student verification documents to third parties.

Privacy Protection

Verification documents are handled for accommodation verification and platform security purposes. Afro Student Living takes reasonable steps to protect uploaded documents, but users should only upload documents that are accurate, valid, and legally theirs to submit.

Student Responsibility

Students are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information is accurate, current, and legally valid. Students should not upload documents that belong to another person unless they are legally authorised to do so.

Verification Before Payment

Students should not make payment until their booking request has been reviewed and approved through Afro Student Living. Payment should only be made through the official Afro Student Living payment process.

Approval Timeline

Verification reviews are normally completed within a reasonable processing period. The timeline may depend on document quality, response time, property availability, and whether additional information is required.
