Booking Policy

Booking, Payment, Check-In, Cancellation, No-Show, and Refund Policy

Afro Student Living uses an admin-reviewed booking process designed to help students find safer, verified accommodation while protecting students, landlords, and property owners.

Booking Requests

Students must submit a booking request before any accommodation confirmation is provided. A booking request does not automatically confirm the property.

Afro Student Living admin reviews the booking request, student details, property availability, uploaded proof documents, and any other relevant information before approving or rejecting the request.

Verification Process

Admin review may require proof of admission, enrollment confirmation, student identification, or other supporting educational documents.

Afro Student Living may reject or delay a booking request if the submitted information is incomplete, unclear, false, misleading, or cannot be verified.

Approval Before Payment

Students should not make payment until their booking request has been reviewed and approved through Afro Student Living.

Once a booking request is approved, the student may see the payment option inside the student dashboard. Payment should only be made through the official Afro Student Living payment process.

Payment Completed and Held Payment

When a student completes payment through Afro Student Living, the booking may be marked as Payment Completed.

After payment is completed, the payment may be held by Afro Student Living pending check-in confirmation. The payment is not released to the landlord or property owner until check-in has been confirmed or the booking has been reviewed by Afro Student Living admin.

Check-In Confirmation

Students are expected to check in on the agreed move-in or check-in date confirmed during the booking process.

After check-in is confirmed, Afro Student Living may mark the payment as ready for release to the landlord or property owner.

If a Student Cannot Check In

If a student cannot check in on the agreed date, the student must contact Afro Student Living support as early as possible before the move-in date.

Afro Student Living will review the booking status, property availability, landlord confirmation, and any supporting information before deciding the next step.

No-Show Policy

If a student does not check in on the agreed date and does not contact Afro Student Living support, the booking may be treated as a no-show.

No-show cases are reviewed manually by Afro Student Living admin. Depending on the situation, the payment may remain held while the case is reviewed, partially refunded, refunded, or released according to the booking conditions and any costs already incurred.

Cancellation Requests

Cancellation requests must be sent to Afro Student Living support as soon as possible.

Refund eligibility depends on the timing of the cancellation, property availability, landlord or property owner confirmation, payment processing costs, and whether the accommodation was held for the student.

Refunds

Refunds are not automatic. All refund requests are reviewed by Afro Student Living admin.

If a refund is approved, it will normally be processed back through the original payment method where possible. Processing times may depend on the payment provider, bank, or card issuer.

Payment Processing Fees

Payment processing fees, bank charges, card charges, or payment provider charges may affect the final refundable amount where applicable.

Property Availability

Afro Student Living cannot guarantee accommodation availability until the booking process has been reviewed, approved, and completed.

If the property becomes unavailable, the landlord cannot honour the booking, or Afro Student Living confirms a serious issue with the accommodation before check-in, Afro Student Living may offer the student an alternative accommodation option or review the booking for a refund.

Important Safety Note

Students should not make separate payments outside Afro Student Living unless instructed officially by Afro Student Living support.

Afro Student Living will never ask students to release payment directly to a landlord before the booking has been reviewed and confirmed through the platform.

Policy Review

Afro Student Living may update this policy from time to time to improve platform safety, booking protection, payment handling, and user experience.
